How Accurate Is A Black Powder Revolver?

If the 1847 Colt Walker is not your favorite black powder revolver, it should be. This monster of a revolver was a powerful and practical weapon, but not without the growing pains associated with any newly-introduced weapon. I wrote an earlier post about the Walker itself, the the subsequent Dragoon revolvers that  included modifications to address its shortcomings.

The YouTube Cap and Ball channel is the creation of  Balázs Németh, black powder shooter whose videos cover a wide range of shooting related topics. He was also a member of the Hungarian National Muzzleloading Shooting Team, and he's well known in the muzzle loading community.
If you just want to get an overview on black powder revolver loading, Duelist1954 has posted a video that takes you through the process. In this video, he used and open topped revolver (Colt 1851 Navy). You notice that the charge weight is considerably less than those used in the Colt Walker. The production quality is not at the same level as Cap And Ball, but it is factual and "rustic".

Have a look!
