1790's Frontier Kit: I found this video from Way Point Survival, created by James Bender. This particular video gives an excellent summary of all of the items one would need to survive a three-day trek in relative, eighteenth century comfort. If you're thinking about participating in a club trek, this video is a must-see.
I would like to give proper credit to Mark A. Baker, author, contributor to Muzzle Loader Magazine, and eighteenth century Experimental Archeologist. He, along with American Pioneer Video, created the Long Hunter Video Series, an extensive collection of explanations of frontier survival skills. Unfortunately, the original series was created in the mid 1990's, so video quality isn't quite up to today's internet standards. I found this West Point Survival video covers everything you would need for a multi-day trek in the wilderness.18th Century Frontiersman & Longhunter Clothing: I found another video on period-correct dress for the would-be trekker. Frontier Trading Company offers a variety of videos, and I invite to to explore them yourselves.
This second video gives some historical insights into a trekker's clothing. It points to an important tenet in the die-hard trekker community: Just because it was available doesn't mean that it would have been common. For examples, pocket watches were available, they would hardly be affordable to a frontiersman whose idea of a hearty meal would have been pemmican served with a side of wild berries.
